2011 is the year of high efficiency.

Specific energy saving targets, significant CO2 reductions, firm financial plans and strict legal requirements are the focus for motivating people all over the world and form the basis for Wilo’s new product campaign. Water is life, 70% of the Earth's surface is water, and humans too are composed of 70% water. Therefore, it is true for our company that: where there is water, there is Wilo – since 1872, and also for the next generations.

Sustainability, strength and efficiency – these guiding principles combine the significant properties of a Wilo pump. Expressed in a powerful number that symbolises our high performance: 18 billion kilowatt hours of energy savings every year.

High Efficiency 11,000,000
Less electricity consumption means less greenhouse gasses. By using high efficiency pumps for heating systems alone, 11 million fewer tonnes of CO2 are generated every year in Europe.

High Efficiency 4,000,000,000
Environmental protection is only highly efficient if it pays off. Therefore, our high efficiency pumps do more than reduce emissions, they also save money: 4 billion Euros in electricity costs every year – 8 Euros for each European.

Indeed, our objective has even taken legal form. This is because from 2013 and 2015 onwards, extremely strict efficiency limits will apply to pumps in the EU. These are limit values that our products have already met for the last 10 years or more.

To ensure that these big ideas can work, we need to be extremely precise when it comes to quality tolerances. Even 70 micrometres is too great. We impose incredibly harsh product tests to find out even the smallest weak points.

After all, our high efficiency pumps deliver high levels of well being. They provide a pleasant living environment at 73°F and save money for any typical household.

In addition, high efficiency also helps to improve the effects in financial departments. Electricity accounts for more than 85% of the lifecycle costs of a pump and the Wilo Lifecycle Check identifies the potential savings of any company instantly.
