- A. Wilo EMU pumps can handle heavy slurries up to the 30% solids range.
Q. What sizes of Wilo EMU pumps are available?
- A. Wilo EMU Solids-Handling EMT Class pumps are available for applications needing as little as 20 GPM at 30’ TDH, to applications requiring 25,000 GPM at 35’ TDH or (depending on your requirements) 200 GPM at 280’ TDH, to 2,000 GPM at 417’ TDH—and virtually everything in between.
Q. Why does Wilo EMU use silicon carbide seals?
- A. Wilo EMU uses silicon carbide for its seal surfaces because it lasts 2-1/2 to 3 times longer than tungsten carbide seals.

Q. Are coatings available for pumps that are to be used in extremely corrosive environments?
- A. Wilo EMU CERAM® provides an adhesion level of plus 10 Newtons. This compares to standard industrial paint coatings with adhesion levels in 4 Newton range. (Note: The adhesion of coatings is typically measured in Newtons per-square-millimeter.)
