The First of Its Kind in North America:Wilo Opens New Submersible Technology Facility
Today, area dignitaries, company officials, company employees, area customers, and several dozen interested individuals joined in the celebration of the Grand Opening of the first office and manufacturing facility in the U.S.A. for the Wilo organization.
The special ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in front of the dramatic entrance waterfall. Speakers included: Wilo AG officials from Germany; Thomasville civic leaders; as well as WILO EMU USA LLC officials.
Terry Rouse, President and CEO of WILO EMU USA LLC, explained, “The construction of the new facility clearly demonstrates the large-scale commitment that the Wilo Group is making to the North American marketplace and, most importantly, it will help support the rapidly growing demand for Wilo pumps and mixers in this part of the world.”
Following formal ceremonies, attendees lunched with company officials and toured the full expanse of the building and were introduced to its many special features.
The new facility will be the primary Submersible Technology Center for Wilo in North America. Notably, the facility features the only test pit of its scale and type in North America. This is in addition to offices, training areas, manufacturing bays, warehouse space and shipping areas. It is sited on 10 acres, which provides room for future expansion.
WILO EMU USA LLC is headquartered in Thomasville, Georgia and provides heavy-duty municipal and industrial pumps specifically designed for water and solids-handling applications, including pumps for sewage, tertiary waste, and potable water. The company is part of the Wilo Group, which is one of the world’s leading pump manufacturers.
