Sealed Glycol Cooled Motor Design

HC type motors feature a dry motor chamber, which is cooled by a hermetically sealed—and water/glycol-filled—cooling system. These motors are sometimes referred to as “jacketed”. The motor’s waste heat is dissipated by a magnetically-driven, high-efficiency, heat exchanger.

Available in discharge diameters from 3” to 10” Available in sizes from 6 hp to 31 hp

• Two-chamber system provides improved temperature control of first shaft seal
• Separate leakage chamber provide high process security
• Cooling system hermetically sealed so zero penetration or leakage of liquid is possible
• Continuous operation in wet and dry sump installations
• Even in continuous operation, liquid level can be reduced markedly
• Draining pump sump to very low level is possible
• Room ventilation not necessary for dry pit installations
• Pit size can be reduced, which may result in lower construction costs
