Oil-Filled Motor Chamber Design
The FO designation
Used on pump motors under 10 horsepower and that are cooled statically.
The FK designationUsed on pump motors 10 horsepower and above that positively recirculate the oil in the internal cooling system.

FO/FK Type Motor—Advantages:
- Continuous operation in wet and dry sump installations
- Even in continuous operation, liquid level can be reduced markedly
- Draining pump sump to very low level is possible
- Cooling is independent of the type of pumped medium
- Room ventilation not necessary for dry sump installations
- Pit size can be reduced, which may result in lower construction costs
